The role
We’re currently recruiting for an Accountant to join the SSE Thermal Finance team on a 12 month FTC. This role sits within the Financial Control team and offers a great opportunity to work as part of a strong and supportive finance function.
You will • Deliver accurate and timely month-end close activities, as well as prepare and review post month-end balance sheet reconciliations. • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and other regulatory deadlines. • Respond to external audit queries and ensuring compliance with financial controls. • Liaise with operational site teams to support financial reporting and performance. • Adhere to and enhance robust financial control processes.
You have
• Full accountancy qualification with a recognised accounting body and have 1–2 years of post-qualification experience. • Ability to work to tight timescales while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. • A diligent, methodical approach with a willingness to support ad hoc tasks as needed. • Strong working knowledge of core financial systems and are proficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Confidence in constructively challenging and supporting colleagues to drive continuous improvement across the team as well as having a proactive approach to problem solving.
