Senior Data Analyst

Base Location: Havant, Reading, Perth or Glasgow

Salary: £61,620- £72,592 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst/Developer with a strong background in business and data analytics.

This role is pivotal in shaping and building data-driven products that align with strategic business goals and deliver measurable value for SSEN Distribution.

You will

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to define requirements, perform data analysis, and build scalable, value-driven data products.
• Champion data-driven decision-making and continuous product optimisation to enhance business impact.
• Design and develop advanced Power BI reports with custom visuals, dynamic layouts, and robust data security features.
• Ensure rigorous testing of all products, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, with full technical documentation.
• Engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, providing training, support, and participating actively in Agile ceremonies.

You have

• Proven experience delivering scalable data products that drive measurable business value — from concept through to deployment and ongoing optimisation.
• Expert-level Power BI skills essential, including dynamic reporting, custom visuals, performance tuning, and data security (e.g. RLS); other reporting tools a bonus.
• Strong background in data analytics, modelling, and pipeline development, with hands-on proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable insights, user stories, and high-impact reporting solutions.
• Must thrive in Agile environments, with a track record of unit testing, UAT, and technical documentation — this is a senior role requiring delivery maturity and stakeholder confidence.
