The Role

Are you ready to make a real impact on the energy transition? At SSE Renewables, we're seeking a Procurement Manager to take a key role in the delivery of wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Spain, Italy, France, and Greece.

As Procurement Manager for the Southern Europe Business Unit, you'll play a strategic role in planning and executing procurement activities for key infrastructure works, from CAPEX estimation to supplier negotiations — ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

We're looking for a highly motivated professional with solid experience in procurement and a strong understanding of renewable energy projects. You'll thrive in this role if you're commercially sharp, proactive, and passionate about delivering large-scale infrastructure in an international setting.

You'll work in a collaborative, international environment where your ideas will drive real progress in the energy transition.

You will

- Develop procurement strategies and CAPEX estimates for renewable energy projects.

- Lead end-to-end tender processes for key packages: wind turbines, EPCs, BOPs, substations, HV lines, solar and battery systems.

- Source and procure a wide range of essential services for project development and construction, including:

  • Engineering services, technical due diligence, energy resource assessments, environmental and permitting consultancies, owners' engineering.

- Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal commercial and technical outcomes.

- Manage supplier performance and risks, ensuring value for money and timely execution.

- Support budget planning, value engineering, and cost-saving initiatives.

- Build strong supplier relationships and collaborate with group teams to leverage synergies.

- Ensure full compliance with SSE's procurement policies, safety standards, and governance.

- Contribute to the achievement of key KPIs such as cost reduction, sourcing efficiency and supplier reliability.

You will have

- Relevant experience in procurement or commercial roles within the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors, ideally in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and dealing with complex contract negotiation experience.

- A strong understanding of the renewables market and supply chain landscape in Southern Europe, with focus on Spain, Italy, France, or Greece.

- Proven experience sourcing and managing suppliers for:

  • Wind turbines.
  • Photovoltaic systems.
  • Battery storage.
  • Electrical infrastructure (substations, HV/MV lines).
  • Balance of plant (BOP), EPC contracts.
  • Consulting and engineering services for development and construction support.

- Experience with CAPEX estimation, contract scope definition, and cost management.

- Fluency in English and Spanish is essential. Knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
