First power was achieved in August 2022 and Seagreen became fully operational in October 2023.

This role will be primarily based on the Seagreen windfarm’s 66kV power system, however you’ll also be involved in all electrical aspects of Seagreen Windfarm’s operation, from turbine low voltage level though to the site 66kV system on the Offshore Platform.
This will be a dynamic role interfacing with Seagreen Control Room, Turbine OEM, and multiple stakeholders within SSE.
You will
- Be in charge of coordinating planned & reactive maintenance along with fault-finding activities as required.
- Work closely with other members of the Offshore Asset Management Engineering and Operations teams to develop operational procedures and working practices, ensuring safe and effective management of the assets.
- Support the development and application of relevant engineering standards, and undertake engineering reviews to ensure assets comply with legislation and standards.
The role is based Offshore, so you’ll be required to spend extended periods of time aboard Seagreen’s Service and Operations Vessel (SOV), and on other SSE offshore sites from time to time. The role is shift based on a two week on two week off rolling pattern throughout the year, for which an allowance will be paid.
You have
We are ideally looking for someone who holds a minimum qualification of HNC in Electrical Engineering, or has equivalent experience in an electrical power systems environment, and holding High Voltage Senior Authorisations (SAP).
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to a minimum of 33KV or higher, or advanced and clearly demonstrable experience of working towards qualification.
- Good technical knowledge and experience within electrical generation and/or power systems.
- Experience of asset integrity and maintenance on high voltage systems.
- A solid understanding of HV plant operation and appropriate risk controls.
- Working knowledge of appropriate engineering legislation and industry good practice.
In addition to this, you must be conversant in the use of SCADA and protection systems for high voltage power systems.
Full GWO offshore training is required for this role and will be provided if necessary.
It is also essential that you have a full, valid UK driving license.
