G Baillie – Apprentice Data Analyst
G started the Data Analyst Apprenticeship with SSE in 2022. This role within SSE requires G to provide valuable insights into the assets on the network, usually presented in the form of Power BI reports.
What made you choose SSE?
Because they truly care about their employees and the local communities they serve.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
It's facts based and solutions driven. The people I work with are all experts in their field and have lots of time to give to ensure my training is quality. They also meet you where you're at, there is no expectation to know everything. I enjoy that they challenge me to grow professionally. Each day presents new opportunities to problem solve and collaborate across the business.
What advice would you give to people thinking about applying for an apprenticeship with SSE?
Go for it. It has literally changed my life.

As a neurodiverse individual it’s worth noting that SSE have adapted in order to help me thrive within my role.
