The role
SSE Renewables is leading the way to a net-zero future. As part of our Net Zero Acceleration Programme (NZAP+), we aim to increase our installed renewable energy capacity to 9GW by 2027 and over 16GW by 2032. A significant share of this growth will be driven by competitive offshore wind projects across the globe — including an exciting pipeline in Japan.
To support this ambition, we are seeking a highly organised Bid Manager and Co-ordinator to join our Japan offshore wind team. This role is central to ensuring our bids are competitive, compliant, and delivered to the highest standard — helping SSE Renewables win new offshore wind opportunities that will power a sustainable future.
You have
- Proven experience in bid co-ordination within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment — ideally within the offshore wind or renewable energy sector.
- Ability to manage complex information, tight deadlines, and multiple stakeholders while maintaining clarity and precision in all communications.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis; able to interpret complex information and present insights clearly.
- Understanding of financial processes (e.g., invoicing, purchase orders) and broader macroeconomic factors influencing project economics.
- Ability to build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders, with a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail.
You will
- Develop and deliver winning bid strategies, supporting the Project Manager/Director with pricing, value improvement, and programme planning to achieve competitive, commercially robust outcomes.
- Coordinate bid activities and compliance, managing documentation, governance, and submissions from pre-qualification through to contract award.
- Analyse and report on bid performance, supporting competitor intelligence, data insights, and producing clear progress reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder communication, acting as the main point of contact across internal teams, joint venture partners, and clients to ensure smooth collaboration and effective information flow.
- Provide financial and administrative support, including budget tracking, purchase orders, document management, and adherence to information security and bid governance processes.
