Base Location: Dundee or Perth

Salary: £32,000 - £43,000 + car/cash allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for a Team Manager to join our Vegetation Management team within the Transmission Operations and Maintenance department.

The key duties and responsibilities will be:

- Managing a regional vegetation management maintenance programme to maintain compliance around our 132kV, 275kV and 400kV overhead line networks to minimise the risk of power cuts and to ensure the safety of the public.

- Managing ETR132 resilience projects on nominated circuits to improve resilience of our overhead line network during abnormal weather conditions.

- Responding to requests from other parts of the Transmission team for vegetation management around other assets to meet compliance or their operational requirements.

- To manage a highly skilled team covering all aspects of management to ensure safety is our number 1 priority.

- Monitoring spend while meeting annual targets in the most cost-effective way in line with unit rates and within budget and utilising contractor partners in a cost-effective manner while monitoring safety, productivity and standards.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture industries within a similar team management role and/or relevant qualifications demonstrating experience in the tree cutting or forestry industry.

- An understanding of the Transmission and /or Distribution business with knowledge of the technical and safety requirements of an electricity network would be an advantage.

- Experience of dealing with / or managing staff, contractors, projects or programmes either in a utility or forestry environment.

- Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.

- The role requires you to occasionally work away from home so the ability to do this when required is essential. It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence.
