Salary: £26,000 -£34,000 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent, Full Time.  Flexible working options available

What is the Role?

Working in Transmission finance the key responsibilities are:

1. Balance sheet  - working along side an accountant the successful applicant will gain experience in balance sheet controls and reporting

2. Involvement in cost reporting to senior management including assisting in all aspects of management accounts preparation

3. Involved in budgeting and forecasting all aspects of Transmission business

4. Assist accountant with process documentation to prepare for upcoming SOX requirements


What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

1. Be either recently or part qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA, CIPFA)

2. Be confident, friendly and be a great communicator both written and orally

3. Competent in Excel and Office 365 packages

4. Be hard working, inquisitive, always keen to learn and add value to processes

5. Ambition to progress further in finance career with SSE

Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSE's obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs. SSE operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment, and our role is to ensure that we gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for our businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for SSE now, and in the future.

The Transmission business specifically is entering a new T-2 price control period.  The business has grown significantly in the T-1 period and is forecasting to grow still further.  This is an exciting time for Transmission and this role will provide valuable opportunities for the successful applicant to learn a range of diverse skills and progress in their finance career
