About the Role
Base Location: Glasgow / Perth / Reading (Flexible First options available including hybrid home/office working arrangements)
Salary: up to £45k + performance-related bonus up to 10% + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSE Networks Distribution is the electricity distribution network operator (DNO) responsible for delivering power to over 3.8 million homes across central southern England and the north of Scotland. We serve some of the most diverse and unique geographies across the UK, and keep customers and communities connected whilst developing the flexible electricity network vital to achieving net zero.
The next Ofgem price control period (RIIO-ED2) commences in April 2023 and lasts for 5 years. SSEN Distribution plans to increase its investment by around a third to around £4bn over this period to accelerate the transition to smart, flexible networks and help deliver net zero.
What is the role?
The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for a broad range of activities and be a trusted advisor to the business in the following areas:
- Partner with the various Heads of department to provide financial oversight (including planning, budgeting and reporting) of the directorate segments including Regulation, Network Investment, Asset Management and Regulated Revenue
- Partner with the Director of DSO (Distribution System Operator) to support with the various flexibility initiatives, active network management and core system planning work
- Support with large capital projects and other ad hoc tasks as they arise
What do I need?
To be considered for this role you will need to be:
- A fully qualified accountant with relevant commercial finance experience for the scale of this role;
- A proficient user of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft suite of packages;
- Experienced with Oracle/Hyperion finance systems or similar package;
- A confident and articulate communicator with experience of delivering financial presentations
- Analytically minded and able to constructively challenge business proposals
