What is the Role?
SSE is transforming the way we deliver value from data, and have implemented an Analytics Platform on Azure to execute on that vision. Working in a Scrum team, you'll have first class communication and interpersonal skills as well as the technical ability to develop, improve and maintain that platform.
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be working as part of the team to deliver new capability, enhancements and support day to day operations as they arise.
What do I need?
You should have a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure and demonstrable experience with that cloud environment. Ideally your experience should be from an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) perspective through the automated provisioning of resources and capability.
To be considered for the role you'll have experience in:
- Using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for automated deployments
- Automated provisioning of cloud resources, such as Database, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks
- Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell).
- Using Azure DevOps as the primary tool for backlog management, task tracking etc.
A broad capability over Azure architecture and design would also be beneficial, e.g. across components such as API Management Gateway / App Gateway / Azure Firewall / CosmosDB / SQLDB / SQLMI.
