About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: Up to £70,000 + car/allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Working within the Large Capital Projects (LCP) Services team you'll be recognised as an expert point of contact for the use of tools and the application of techniques relating to the effective and efficient implementation of Project Risk Management.

- You'll coach project teams to effectively capture qualitative and quantitative (schedule and cost) detail to enable their subsequent management of Project Risk.

- Assisting with the ongoing development of the Risk Management Framework and effective tools.

- You'll deliver Risk Management standards against SSE's prescribed Governance requirements and deliver an ongoing raising of standards.

- You'll also manage and deliver risk reporting analysis, perform schedule and cost risk analysis and be part of a team of Risk Management professionals.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, we would love you to have;

- Significant experience of working in a project development and delivery environment, with an ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the end-to-end project lifecycle.

- Ideally, you should have a qualification related to Project / Risk Management or Engineering and be able to demonstrate an expert knowledge of the risk management process and methods of risk identification, assessment, treatment and monitoring techniques at project level.

- You'll demonstrate experience using collaborative skills in workshops and coaching others to draw out relevant risks and issues impacting the programme and/or individual projects.

- You should possess a high level of aptitude with Microsoft Office, and a working to experienced knowledge of industry standard Risk Management software.

- As well as excellent communication skills and a strong customer focused approach, it is essential you have strong influencing skills, a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

Large Capital Project Services (LCPS) is responsible for providing the Group Executive Committee and SSE's Business Unit Executive Committees with independent assurance services to help inform investment decisions and manage the performance of Large Capital Projects throughout their lifecycle to realise the benefits within the Project Business Case and the wider strategic Business objectives.
