About the Role
Base Location: Poole, New Forest (Southampton), Salisbury, Yeovil
Salary: £46,100 to £69,100 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Reporting to the Head of Customer Operations, you will be taking on a key role within the operational management team for the Region. Your role is to be a voice in the Networks management team, to collectively share responsibility for delivering the strategy, ensuring targets are understood and driving performance across the business area to ensure sustainable success is achieved without compromise. You'll ensure that SSEN's customers remain at the core of every decision to ensure great customer service performance and value is delivered not only by yourself but by your team and contract partners, meeting and exceeding customer and regulator expectations. You'll ensure all work is resourced effectively in line with the programme of work for the co-ordination centre; leading a team of Managers, you will manage, motivate and drive a customer-led productivity and performance culture of all industrial staff. You will monitor and drive the management of SHE, welfare, compliance, capabilities and training portfolio of all people resource within the Coordination Centre and will deliver the effective management of all other equipment and material resources required within the region.
-On a daily basis you'll manage productivity, support your team on site, co-ordinate training and compliance while ensuring that your team is always capable. You'll also be responsible for processes including site safety checks and core people management (ranging from absence and leave to capability and any conduct issues). You'll structure your team and out of hours standby rotas to deliver excellent efficiency and productivity.
-Responsible for ensuring all industrial staff have a clear understanding of their responsibilities, accountabilities, KPI's and their contribution to the overall business results.
-Contractor management within the Coordination team and management of the Streetworks performance within the Region.
-Understand how your direct team and indirect staff are performing in relation to delivery of the technical aspects of their roles and will be accountable for tracking, monitoring and managing this on a day to day basis. Seek productivity and availability improvements with regional colleagues and SSEN customers in mind while ensuring works are executed and recorded in line with requirements. Ensure the accuracy of data relating to work completed by employees and contract partners under your management including but not limited to: timesheets, worksheets and si8milar records are completed on time and with accuracy.
-Ensure you have a team that makes commercially sounds decisions, delivering a cost effective function that is wholly compliant with budget expectations, the regulatory framework and being financially aware of budgets to achieve maximum regulatory incentives.
What do I need?
We are looking for a team player with commercial awareness and good leadership skills, who is respectful and is a good decision maker. You'll have previous people management experience with significant experience of leading and motivating small teams in a target driven environment that delivers projects and programmes. You'll also have worked in a role that has given you an understanding of the strategies to successfully support customer services in a regulated price control environment.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have a basic understanding of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operates and generates revenue and incentives, with relevant technical experience & knowledge. Therefore, sound business knowledge and an awareness of the key stakeholders and customers in electricity distribution or a similar market sector is essential. Finally, you'll have the IT skills to effectively analyse performance data and deliver formal presentations.
