What is the Role?
SSE Renewables Engineering and Innovation have several opportunities within our Electrical and Grid Engineering Teams to work on our extensive portfolio of development and construction projects and join our established and growing Engineering team. We are looking for Electrical and Grid Engineers at Engineer, Senior Engineer and Lead Engineer levels to work across a variety of engineering work packages on our onshore, offshore and hydro projects.
These opportunities will cover the whole project lifecycle and may include; grid connection applications, grid code compliance, onshore/offshore HVAC or HVDC substations, land cable systems, offshore cable systems (export and inter-array), electrical power system studies and wind turbine electrical systems.
What do I need?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing Engineering team, so if you have a relevant degree and experience in one or more of these areas, we would be extremely keen to hear from you.
We would also love you to have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at various levels within the engineering team, management and other stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to deliver the highest quality of work within the necessary project timescales and requirements.
- Or be working towards, professional membership of a relevant professional body.
- A real passion for and share the SSE’s business strategy which is to drive the transition to a zero-carbon future through the world class development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets.
Having a background in Renewables isn't necessary, as we welcome applications from those with transferable experience. It's more important to us that you share our values, bring unique experience and are eager to learn.
