What are the opportunities?
We're looking for experienced Consents Managers across various levels of seniority to join our Renewables Consents team to help design and deliver consenting strategies for large scale offshore wind energy projects. This will encompass all stages of the development and consenting process both in the UK and internationally.
These roles will be involved in some of our early phase development projects and also on our Dogger Bank and Seagreen projects, working across both Scottish and English consenting regimes during the post consent implementation phases and moving into construction.

It is during these later phases of project delivery where you'll play a key role in managing the consenting process leading up to and into construction across multiple phases of work on these projects. You'll have the opportunity to use your experience to support the wider project team on a wide range of consenting issues, to challenge yourself through dealing first hand with the complexities of consenting these large-scale projects and also play an important role in delivering renewable energy targets in the drive for a net zero carbon future.

What will you need?
We are looking for individuals who are degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as planning, engineering, science, environmental or similar, and may either have, or be working towards, professional membership of a relevant technical or professional body, for example the RTPI, IEMA or similar.

We would also love you to have;
-Demonstrable experience of working on consents, licencing or permitting processes
-A strong understanding of the importance of the policy framework in a development context.
-Sound commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities
-A real passionate for SSE's business strategy which is to drive the transition to a zero-carbon future through the world class development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets.
