What is the Role?

The Product Manager will work with the Marketing team as well as the Data Collection & Data Aggregation (DCDA) team to develop and deliver a range of market communications which promote our differentiated DCDA propositions. You’ll create, design, articulate and promote new customer propositions/ campaigns around available insights, generating further actionable leads and enhancing SSE’s energy data management offering.

You’ll conduct the appropriate market research – exploring and identifying current/ future developing DCDA trends thereafter evaluating their relevance or application to our marketing channels. If appropriate, you’ll generate proposals to help inform our Digital Services Director of potential avenues of opportunity for the business.

In this role, you’ll also support the development of our sales engagement strategy where you’ll collaborate with the sales team across channels to assist with their understanding of new products/ propositions, the benefits for customers, the different advantages they provide SSE and the commercial/ financial benefits for both us and the customer. At times you’ll support sales personnel with pre-sales presentations for customers, lending your product/ proposition knowledge.

Other responsibilities will include defining targets and reviewing key performance criteria over time to assist with data-led recommendations for enhancements.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience working in commercial marketing and strategy development covering product & proposition strategy, development and delivery. Ideally in DCDA, however this isn’t essential.
  • Experience working with multiple software and media applications such as Hubspot Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Google Analytics.
  • Creative copywriting/ writing skills for media messages, case studies, magazine and press articles.
  • Working knowledge of marketing data strategy including planning, GDPR and PERC/EPR governance. Enablers of IP targeted advertising, marketing automation, account-based marketing, and behaviour-based marketing.
  • Comfortable collaborating with the wider marketing, sales and business development teams to turn propositions into actionable leads
  • Experience working within third-party intermediary / Broker channel along with upselling and retention strategies.
