About the Role

Base Location: Hornsea or Aldbrough

Salary: £61,100 - £91,700 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

As the Operations Manager you will provide managerial support, both on a day to day and medium-term basis to provide direction and focus for SSE Hornsea team, directing day to day plant operations (process and maintenance) through the Production Engineers and the Maintenance Planner/Supervisor.

You will manage all operational and safety issues of one of two top tier COMAH sites of Atwick and Aldbrough.

The Operations Manager will also support the Director of Gas Storage in ensuring that all site strategy is smoothly implemented and that all activities are planned, audited and controlled to meet all legal, statutory and commercial requirements.

Other roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Manage the efficient and smooth running of the Operations section to ensure that plans are formed and implemented in a timely manner to meet all operational conditions.

- Coordinate and provide site operational and maintenance management on a day to day basis, to provide safe, efficient and cost effective operation of the site in accordance with current and future legislation and codes of practice, to ensure customer requirements are properly met.

- Instigate work, which will provide and develop measures to monitor and improve performance of the assets in particular with regard to safety, environment and process development.

- In the absence of the Director of Gas Storage undertake the deputising role and fulfil the responsibilities of that role.

- Provide site specific and business wide engineering leadership to ensure a high quality of delivery by all parties involved.

What do I need?

To be considered for the role, we would love you to have:

- A proven track record at a senior level in an operations and / or maintenance environment, coupled with a good understanding of the energy market.

- Experience managing budgets and be comfortable setting up and managing contracts.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proficient organisation skills and a strength in developing and nourishing positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Experience of leading and coaching a diverse team within an inclusive and collaborative environment to achieve high performance outcomes.

- A high appreciate of Safety, Health and Environmental performance with a track recording of continuous improvement and behavioural change.
