Salary: £33,500-50,300  + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours per week | Flexible working patterns available

SSE Renewables (SSER) is the UK and Ireland's leading renewable energy company. Our aim is to be the largest and most efficient developer of onshore and offshore wind in the UK and Ireland. We drive new growth by identifying, developing, building and operating high quality assets in GB, Ireland and internationally. In order to contribute to a low carbon future, we have committed to treble our current Renewables output by 2030.

In order to meet these ambitions, significant growth and investment is required and SSER is expanding its Finance team focusing on offshore.

Our Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Offshore FP&A & Construction Finance Manager to join the Renewables Commercial Finance team based in Glasgow reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance - Offshore.

This unique role will have a dual focus. You will be the direct business partner to the Offshore Capital Projects Director, with the specific focus on SSE’s current offshore projects in construction; Dogger Bank and Seagreen. You will build relationships with the project finance teams with the purpose of acting as the key SSER finance representative. You will provide consistent updates and insight to SSER senior management and directors on programme, capex, cashflows whilst liaising with our trading business on hedging strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and presentation of monthly finance reports to management and directors
  • Membership and attendance at joint venture management committees
  • Ongoing forecast for project progress
  • Managing the transition of the assets from construction to operation within SSER finance

The secondary focus of the role is managing the financial planning and analysis for the entire of the SSER Offshore business. You will own the financial plan for the entire SSER Offshore business which will require engagement and partnering across the SSER Offshore finance managers and wider business, putting the candidate in a unique “high profile” position. You will develop a holistic view of the entire SSER offshore business with a wider understanding of the competitive global offshore market.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of the 10 year financial model
  • Quarterly outputs and presentation to directors
  • Ad hoc analysis relative to market trends, transactions, or investment opportunities.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to be:

  • Newly qualified accountant or a senior accountant in a finance role
  • Proficient user of MS Excel with experience of financial modelling
  • Confident and articulate communicator with experience of delivering financial presentations
  • Have strong analytical skills
  • Experience of corporate finance transactions would be beneficial

In addition, SSER’s Offshore business is currently going through significant growth and expansion into new international territories, this exciting period is providing new roles and opportunities within the finance function based in international locations.
