What is the Role?
You will report to a Managing Senior Engineer of the Heat Networks Team (within the Distributed Energy business of SSE Energy Solutions) and will join the Heat Networks engineering team, where we are seeking an additional Engineer (from a Mechanical, Process or Control Systems degree discipline) to help grow our district energy networks (heating and cooling) business. In line with the requirements of the role set out below, you’ll require relevant previous experience with a decent understanding of both low-carbon energy centres and piping distribution systems.

For SSE’s operating district heating schemes, you’ll provide engineering support in troubleshooting and optimisation modifications (mechanical and/or control) to the operations team in order to improve the carbon and cost performance of our sites. In addition, your role may involve modelling existing heat networks, interrogating and analysing operating data from our schemes, quantifying sources of heat loss and proposing improvements for existing and future heat networks.
