Salary: SSE4 - £27,991 - £35,546 (experience dependent)
Career development and training opportunities could see you progress to SSE5 then SSE6, which has a current maximum salary of £44,700
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours per week
About the Department
SSE Power Distribution, part of the SSE group, owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising some 123,000 substations and 127,000km of overhead lines and underground cables, distributing electricity to 3.5 million homes and businesses in the North of Scotland and Southern England.
We have islands off the West and North Coast of Scotland that are supplied by submarine cables. These islands have embedded Diesel Power Stations which acts as an emergency supply when faults occur. It is within our Power Station at Stornoway, Isle of Lewis that an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter.
What is the Role?
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, undertaking fault-finding and repairs on the fixed installations of the power stations, as well as planning and organising maintenance work and assisting with general day-to-day tasks within the stations
