Base Location: Flexible UK and Ireland

Salary: Circa €95,000 / £70,000 depending on skills and experience + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

SSE Renewables has an ambition to deliver c2GW of offshore wind in the Irish Market by 2030. We're looking for a pro-active enthusiastic individual with an eye for detail to join our offshore development team and help us excel.

You'll be a self-starter, comfortable operating in the uncertain landscape of early development projects, have an ability to 'read the energy contest' and play to win. You'll lead SSE's early stage offshore development projects in Ireland, taking responsibility for all elements of the projects, refining them in preparation for seabed allocation, planning submission and subsidy processes.

Some of your other main accountabilities will include;

- Overall responsibility for development activities on SSE's Blue Seas projects in Ireland

- Navigation of energy market, so as to position our projects for success

- Authoring of board papers, recommendations, reports and presentation at senior levels within and outside of the SSE organisation

- Driving of value engineering throughout the development lifecycle

- Development of local, national, internal and external stakeholder networks so as to enable successful consenting of the project.

What do I need?

We're looking for someone who is qualified to degree level or equivalent in a science,  engineering or business discipline coupled with extensive project development experience.

You'll have proven ability in leading teams of multi-disciplined individuals, and setting clear goals and objectives.

The ability to interpret and manage multiple projects and / or business requirements simultaneously will be essential, as will Strong analytical skills, both quantitate and qualitative, and an understanding of the key policy drivers, economic levers, legislative drivers and development related legislation.

More importantly, you'll be self-driven, resilient, and capable of delivering against tight deadlines and goals, all within a high pressure environment.
