About the Role
Base Location: Cardiff or Reading
Salary: £40,658 - £49,626 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: 12 month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment | Full Time | Flexible First options available
What is the Role?
SSE's Business & Operational Support department is responsible for providing ongoing technical support to Business Energy. We provide support for existing applications, manage the testing and rollout of all new applications and releases, and respond to business requirements for change using rapid application development tools (primarily C# .Net, SQL, MS Access and MS Excel). As part of your role you will:
- Respond to a high demand of support requests from our business area and will take a lead role in the design and development of solutions using a variety of software.
- Assist in the development of MIS reports from a variety of systems.
- Working on your own initiative, you'll plan and manage tasks to meet deadlines and will be responsible for ensuring that all challenges are effectively resolved.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost drivers and improve efficiency and customer service within the process.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- In-depth knowledge of C# .Net, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel and/or SQL Programming/Server.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and can work under pressure to deadlines. demonstrate a high attention to detail and will be a natural problem solver.
- A proactive approach, prioritise your own workload within demanding schedules and take ownership of problems and requests.
- Excellent teamworking skills, we share knowledge and experience across our team to build broader skill and capabilities within the team.
- Previous knowledge of the energy industry would be advantageous.
