About the role:
Base Location: Poole, Yeovil, New Forest, Portsmouth, Aldershot, Salisbury, Basingstoke or Petersfield
Salary: £36,260 - £44,257 depending on skills and experience + car allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
As a Consents officer you will be responsible for obtaining permissions and consent from landowners for the installation of our equipment in relation to New Connection jobs, this includes all access arrangements, wayleaves, easements etc.
You will work closely with our connections delivery team to ensure projects are completed in a timely, safe and cost-effective way, providing advice on route design and optimum delivery options.
You will also ensure we remain compliant with legislation and maintain and build relationships with landowners and customers.
In this role you will be:
- Gaining wayleaves, easements and access agreements.
- Advising on route design & landowners impact.
- Liaising with connections team to update on progress, producing access packs and legal drawings.
- Managing preparation, negotiation and successful acquisition of wayleaves, easements, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships.
What do I need?
To ensure you get the most from your role we ask that you have experience within the wayleave field, and of wayleave procedures. Experience working within the distribution industry or another regulated environment is essential. Working knowledge of agriculture or forestry would be a distinct advantage.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience of working with key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities and national agencies.
- Knowledge of relevant consents and environmental legislation.
- A full, current driving licence as this role involves both office based and site/field based visits.
- Experience securing both voluntary and statutory consents for connection projects.
