What is the Role?

Within IT, we are building out our Digital Strategy Transformation and Commercial (DSTC) team, which is responsible for defining and executing IT's strategic direction, enabling the digital transformation of the SSE Group and optimising the commercial performance of the IT business as a whole.

Reporting to the Head of IT Finance and Cost Management, this is a critical new role where you'll bring together the cost management systems within IT with the objective of driving improved cost management and finance control. The role of the Technology Business Management (TBM) systems and Process Manager is to lead on the development, implementation, and continual improvement of all our IT Finance and Cost management systems and processes. These systems underpin the IT function's cost management, recharging and reporting capabilities.

The role is responsible for:

- Developing the Technology Business Management systems and process improvement strategy, including Apptio and Oracle Time and Labour.

- Overseeing the delivery of the systems and process initiatives what will underpin the TBM strategy and enable IT to manage its cost base much more effectively.

- Planning, implementation, and oversight of multiple initiatives across the IT organisation.

- Running change programmes with a defined roadmap of projects and appropriate governance, delivering regular and ongoing improvements into the business.

- Managing the associated BAU systems and processes.

- Identifying areas of IT spend that can be optimised or reduced.

- Supporting SSE's business units develop a strong capability in IT cost management.

What do I need?

You'll bring experience operating in a similarly senior role, where you have established effective ways of working and implementing cost management and time recording systems and processes. This should include management experience in a systems capacity, coupled with demonstrable cost management expertise.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A minimum of 5 years' technical or functional experience in cost and time recording systems management, ideally gained in other organisations, particularly Apptio and Oracle Time & Labour.

- A thorough knowledge of the requirements and benefits of an established IT Technology Business Management function.

- Deep expertise in all aspects of implementation of complex and cross functional projects, including project management, change management and project monitoring.

- Significant experience of setting up, managing, developing, and improving systems and processes for successful change management and transformation.

- Apptio E-TBMA qualification or similar.
