Base Location: Perth, Glasgow

Salary: £44,100- £66,100 depending on skills and experience +performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent, Full Time | Flexible First options available

Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSE’s obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs.  SSE operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment, and our role is to ensure that we gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for our businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for SSE now, and in the future

Our Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Finance Manager to join the Renewables Financial Control team. As a result of continued growth into both Japan and Southern Europe, this newly created role will report directly into the Financial Controller and will be responsible for all aspects of International Financial Control. The role will involve working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders focusing on establishing best practice in reporting and processes and ensuring the framework of controls meets the needs of the business.  There may be a requirement for some travel within the role.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Financial ownership, at consolidated level, of the international entities within the Renewables business (which include foreign exchange, goodwill, consolidation and non-controlling interest accounting) and the international intermediate holding companies including preparation and audit of the statutory accounts of those registered in the UK.

- Working with local accounting teams and/or external advisors to ensure local filings (accounts etc) for entities registered in countries outside of the UK and ROI are prepared and filed in line with local country rules.

- Preparing IFRS overlays from local GAAP accounts submitted by local teams for inclusion in the SSE Renewables consolidated results.

- Managing relationships with local teams and external advisors ensuring that all key deliverables are submitted on time and accurate.

- Working with the Financial Controller to establish a permanent international blueprint template that can be used as we continue to expand internationally including ERP systems implementation.

- Working with the consolidation and reporting team to provide technical accounting support on any transactions internationally including mergers and acquisitions and providing recommendations for integrating into the wider SSER consolidated results.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Qualified accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA).

- Strong technical accounting abilities and working knowledge of current IFRS.

- Experience of Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Greek or French GAAP advantageous.

- Experience of implementing systems and/or integrating new entities onto an ERP platform.

- Experience of working in a risk and control environment advantageous.

- Ability to manage multiple complex projects/processes simultaneously.

In addition to the above you will be a good communicator, professional and diligent, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, whilst never compromising on the quality of your work. You will be flexible, adept at managing expectations and be able to adapt to changing business needs.
