Base Location: Republic of Ireland, We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around Ireland.

What is the Role? 

As member of senior management of SSE’s Solar & Battery business in Ireland, you will be responsible for all project development from initiation through to point of hand over for construction. You will be responsible for driving the pipeline and growth of the business in ROI.  You will develop and execute development strategy, oversee pipeline and develop and manage projects from initial identification or acquisition completion, through commercial appraisal, design, grid approval, land assemblage and planning to point of construction commencement.  

With significant ambitions for growth, you will be responsible for recruiting a high calibre team of development professionals. You and your team will provide robust front-end project development and management to develop and refine project opportunities up to investment decision, and ultimately handover to construction. 

What do I need? 

 We would love for you to have: 

- A background that may have originated in engineering, project finance, private equity, or elsewhere 

- A good understanding of Eirgrid and the energy markets in ROI  

- Experience of the various stages of solar and BESS development.  

- Be well connected to the political and commercial influencers of ROI Energy Strategy.
