About the Role
Base Location: Perth, Edinburgh or Glasgow Preferred
Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + Performance Related Bonus and a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
As an Energy Analyst, you will solve a new problem every day: how to optimise the dispatch of a power station, value a gas storage site, model how renewable output changes with weather patterns and calculate the variability in SSE's energy market revenue to name a few. No day is the same in this exciting and dynamic team.
You will learn how the GB electricity and gas markets operate, understand how trading is used to stabilise revenue, all while developing your knowledge across many different disciplines, working for a company at the forefront of tackling climate change; currently building with worlds biggest offshore windfarm, developing carbon capture/storage project for sustainable flexible generation and exploring opportunities for natural energy storage, building on our heritage in hydro electric power.
You will undertake a key role in the business as part of a team who are responsible for position management, operational analysis, reporting of profit and loss accounts, financial forecasting and complex modelling based on customer requirements.
You will be comfortable with big data and demonstrate a flair for creating solutions to meet changing needs and requirements.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will ideally be educated to degree level in a STEM, Economics or Finance discipline.
