Base Location: Glasgow, Perth, Havant or Reading
Salary: £101,000 - £151,400 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As the Director of Procurement (IT), you will shape and guide the Procurement and Commercial function through a period of transformation of the IT function. You will be playing a pivotal role in setting procurement strategies, and establishing the commercial foundations necessary for the successful delivery of the IT function. This role will ensure commercial agility, resilience, and alignment with strategic objectives. As a member of the ITLT, you will report to the Director of Procurement Operations and will also have a dotted line to the Group CIO.
You will
• You will be responsible for maximising group leverage though best in class category management and commercial discipline.
• Be responsible for guiding, developing, supporting and maintaining strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to positively influence and impact upon the delivery of business objectives.
• You shall continuously work to strategically improve demand management, routes to market, procedures, standards or policies whilst adhering to and understanding regulatory guidelines and advising customers on flexibility and application.
• Support and guide the CIOs in critical contract and commercial activities and where required be actively involved in supporting negotiations and resolve disputes.
• Manage all post contract commercial matters to ensure that the core principles of the commercial manual relevant to IT are implemented.
You have
• Substantial experience and responsibilities in a similar role with previous experience in P&C management and leadership, specifically in the execution of IT procurement and commercial activities with the ability to understand and negotiate complex contracts with the ability to manage contractual disputes.
• Thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of the processes relating to procurement strategies and the commercial impact of decisions.
• Advanced experience of supplier development techniques and managing the development of complex supplier relationships.
• Delivery-focussed and able to achieve advantageous outcomes in demanding timescales within a high-pressure project environment.
• The ability to challenge the status quo, bring high quality insights and best practice and ensure no value is left on the table.
