About the Role

Digital services are expanding and are looking for a controls specialist to join our Platform Operations team. The role will involve in analysing HVAC assets in buildings and improving environmental and energy performance, helping customers drive down carbon and help with the customer with their journey to net-zero.

  • You’ll be supporting and maintaining a collaborative working environment with internal & external customers and stakeholders. Whilst creating a high-performance culture in Platform Operations Teams, this will enable the business to meet and exceed both customer needs and business objectives
  • You will be responsible for connecting buildings and integrating services into the SSE Energy Solutions IoT platform. You will be responsible for configuring data analytics on the platform and ensuring a continuous improvement program with existing and future technologies that will meet customer objectives.
  • You will be responsible for engineering and amending control strategies in line with project or customer requirements, whilst also carrying out work to engineer Head End graphics to a high quality within agreed timeframes.
  • You will be responsible for liaising with EMC Technicians to assist in responding to site issues. As technical lead, you will be expected to take ownership of any issues and be responsible for achieving a resolution to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that you are keeping up to date with the latest technical innovations and products and how they can be taken to market to enhance or improve the services to the customer

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have the below:

  • Ideally possess a HNC/HND in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. You’ll also have extensive experience in commissioning or supporting BEMS and Control systems of Trend IQ4 type, with knowledge and experience of using the Tridium Siemens PX
  • You’ll be a high level engineer with experience of Trend IQ Vision, including full integration of M-Bus, Modbus, Bacnet protocols, with extensive experience composing your own software strategies and graphics engineering.
  • You will have a good knowledge of how a building operates, through its various assets and services, and specifically the usage of energy within different buildings and building types, so that you can contribute to discussions around improved operation – both around potential energy savings, and improved environmental conditions for the customer.
  • As you will be working with a small tight-knit group it is essential that you possess excellent communication skills in order to maintain strong relationships with all team members. You’ll also have a professional manner and be dedicated to meeting customer expectations, including demonstrating a strong set of values to match those of the Energy Solutions Operations Team – Safety, Honesty, Integrity and Customer Focussed.
  • Due to the nature of this role you will be working remotely it is essential you are independently minded and can work with minimal supervision
