Location: Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Wiltshire

Salary: up to £59,000 plus car/car allowance and bonus

Fixed Term Contract (24 months)| Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week

What is the Role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager (Quantity Surveyor) to join our Procurement and Commercial (P&C) team working within our Power Distribution business. Reporting to the P&C Manager, you will be providing end to end procurement and commercial support for the ED2 Capital Delivery portfolio.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing end to end Procurement and Contract Management support services to ensure the core principles of the Commercial Manual are being implemented.
  • The development and implementation of the programme and portfolio procurement and commercial strategies with the Project Team to optimise value for money in conjunction with project delivery aligned with our business objectives and goals.
  • Provide timely budgeting/estimating/risk profiles as projects mature and cost reporting to ensure projects are delivered within approved budget authorisations.
  • Building and supporting the development of relationships with main suppliers/contractors and liaise with points of contact on project(s) / contract(s).
  • Provide regulated and unregulated PQQ’s, ITT’s and tender evaluation packs and participate in contract negotiations and placing contracts for project works.
  • Supporting the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role we would love you to have:

  • A thorough working knowledge of UK construction contracts. Experience of working with the NEC ECC (option A or C) forms of contract or similar is essential.
  • Experience in programme and portfolio capital delivery
  • Experience in estimating, cost and budget management, pre and post contract administration, contract negotiation, claims and commercial programme and risk management.
  • Competence in the preparation and drafting of construction contracts; especially target cost or performance incentivised contracts.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying is preferred however, candidates with other relevant construction related degrees and appropriate experience will be considered. MRICS professional qualifications are desirable.
