About the Role
Base Location: Perth
Salary: £36,836 to £48,648 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
-The Commissioning Technician's key responsibilities are:
-Provision of first line support for development, preparation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and upgrade of Transmission Control Centre SCADA displays and controls, enabling delivery of a safe and reliable interface for 24/7 Transmission system operations and safety.
-Integration of operational data and signalling from the Transmission asset base into the control centre systems and onwards to the GB System Operator to meet our Transmission License, Grid Code and STC obligations.
-Use and maintenance of the security of the Data Historian System called PI.
-Provision of TCC Systems technical guidance to TCC Control Room and Transmission Field Unit Engineers.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
-Knowledge and understanding of the Transmission network coupled with previous technical experience in a role involving electrical, mechanical or hydraulic systems and SCADA would be an advantage.
-The foresight to be able to technically design new displays for safe operation by Transmission Control Room.
-Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise to meet strict contractual deadlines. You should also have the ability to be able to communicate to a wide audience - internal and external Project Managers, Project Engineers, National Grid and External Contractors.
-You will possess or be working towards a recognised Engineering qualification.
-Logical analysis and fault-finding skills.
