What is the Role?

The Income Analyst will join the team as it prepares for a major new customer billing system being introduced.  This is an exciting phase in a major strategic transformation programme, working within the ‘Core Platform Replacement’ (CPR) project.

The first phase of the role will be focused on preparing for and taking part in inbound knowledge transfer activity; system and UAT testing; providing feedback to the system consultants; supporting the design and documenting of new Income processes and controls; and supporting all analysis activity required to ensure a seamless migration, transition and go-live.

As the year progresses, the role will develop to become increasingly operational as you start to perform the new cash and banking processes, including bank reconciliation and customer receipt allocation. Key responsibilities of the role will include:

-  Learn, develop and perform the processing and control activities to manage our customer payment channels, allocate high-volume customer receipts and reconcile the bank account.  This will initially be on our legacy system and then migrate onto the new system.

- Prepare for, and take part in full-scale testing, providing feedback to the system consultants.

- Support the design and documenting of new Income processes and controls.

- Support all analysis activity required to ensure a seamless migration, transition and go-live. 

- Identify, assess, develop and deliver Continuous Improvement initiatives.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience of working in a high-volume cash and banking process environment, managing customer receipts and/or supplier payments; experience in interacting with the bank and third-party payment processors.

- Good systems experience, ideally having been involved in implementation or upgrade projects.

- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve issues and anomalies; good general accounting knowledge, including double entry and accruals concept; experience in financial and systems controls and governance.

- Track record for innovative and sustainable problem-solving.

- Commitment to delivering outstanding and personalised customer service.
