Base Location: Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre
Salary: Circa £22,500 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSE’s £4m visitor centre at Pitlochry dam opened in January 2017 and is a highly popular destination for tourists and locals with around 100,000 visitors per year to the café and exhibition. State of the art technology showcases how hydro power was first brought to the Scottish Highlands; the ongoing story of renewable energy; and the ever popular ‘salmon story.’
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Café Supervisor to join our expanding team based in Pitlochry. This role has the potential for progression to Assistant Visitor Centre Manager.
We are looking for a team player who can work on their own initiative without supervision. They should have excellent organizational skills, the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines; have a strong customer focus and the drive and enthusiasm to achieve high standards within the workplace. Punctuality is important as well as attention to detail whilst following site procedures. Previous catering sector experience and a good level of understanding of health and safety measures within the café environment is essential.
- Oversee the day-to-day supervision of the Café team
- A genuine willingness to go above and beyond to support the team and provide a world class service to visitors
- Responsibility for all Health and Safety issues within the café
- Operation of till and ensuring correct money handling and receipts of cash
- Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and codes of practice
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Basic understanding of word, excel and general internet access.
- Experience of supervising others, working within a café environment and food hygiene certificates
- First Aid, experience of using a variety of catering and cleaning equipment would be an advantage
- Strong Customer service experience
