Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £29,000 - £43,600 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Business Planning and Performance team. The role will support the delivery of improved business performance through the development, implementation, and maintenance of business processes to ensure regulatory and business compliance.

This role provides a fantastic introduction to the SSEN Transmission business. It will involve exposure at a senior level (Director and Head Of) and will play a fundamental role in the preparation for our next business plan which will detail our net zero project delivery programme.

The main responsibilities of the Business Analyst are:

  • Collect, analyse and organise complex data sets whilst ensuring attention to detail and accuracy. This will include acquiring data from multiple sources, analysing and challenging data to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Implementing project management strategies on internal workstreams which will involve tracking and monitoring milestones and preparing update reports for senior management.
  • Identifying business performance improvements and delivering processes to ensure compliance with our licence obligations.
  • Report writing and presentation of information to communicate findings at a senior level and inform strategic decision making.
  • Engage constructively and develop a network of a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, working closely with technical, financial and engineering specialists to ensure effective communication of information.
  • What do I need?

    To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

    • Knowledge of the electricity industry and the challenges associated with the journey to net-zero, as well as a basic understanding of the licence obligations under which SSEN Transmission operates.
    • Experience in carrying out research and analysis of large quantities of data.
    • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to present to internal and external audiences on business-critical content.
    • Project management skills and experience supporting an internal PMO function would be an advantage for this role.
    • Ability to engage with technical, financial and engineering specialists to gather relevant information.
    • Customer focused, self-motivated and flexible with a can-do attitude
    • Positive influencing skills with the ability to find answers within a diverse engineering-focused organisation.
    • Qualified to degree level, or relevant experience.
