Salary: £53,000 - £79,900 depending on skills and experience + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

SSE has set a highly ambitious target for Renewables growth of 1GW per year by 2030. A significant proportion of this capacity will be contracted through highly competitive processes or auctions in the UK & Ireland as well as Internationally. Delivering continued bid success will be crucial for delivering our renewables growth strategy.

Reporting to the Bid Director, you'll work across markets, as well as Onshore and Offshore technologies to deliver competitive and commercially robust bids. You'll be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary bid teams, driving all bid activities, including Seabed Auctions and CFD within the Renewables portfolio through to bid award.

This is a highly demanding role where in-depth understanding of Renewables, project economics and commercial value drivers and developing successful bid strategies is paramount. You'll be required to provide strategic context to bid conclusions and think innovatively to develop winning bid strategies and drive commercial value improvement across these bids.

This is a critical role within our Bid Team, and an exciting opportunity to join the growing SSE Renewables Large Capital Projects bid team in delivering the SSE Renewables strategy.

What do I need?

We are looking for someone from an Energy background whose experience has been gained within bid and auction processes, commercial project management or investment management type roles.

You'll have experience of assessing project economics, developing business cases and complex bid strategies as well as a proven track record of leading multi-discipline teams within a bid, commercial or business development environment.

An indepth understanding of the cost and value drivers of wind projects is highly beneficial.

You'll need strong commercial acumen in order to support project teams, querying inputs and assumptions in the business case when required.

Excellent communication skills will be essential, enabling you to refine complex information across a variety of levels, as will your ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
