What's the role?

Reporting into the Regional Business Manager, you'll execute the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) opportunities within the North West by promoting good working relationships with our existing clients, as well as new. You'll be adept at seeking out, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities, utilising sales tools to plan and document progress; increase business opportunities within existing accounts and participate as a member of the team on key and target new customers.

You’ll be accountable for proactively identifying and contacting new clients, cultivating and managing long-term relationships to build long term associations. This will involve understanding their business, operational and environmental objectives and bringing solutions to meet their needs.

Utilising your industry experience in BEMS you’ll be able to share your knowledge and sales expertise with clients to match a BEMS solution to their operational requirement, whilst referring any further requirement to other businesses within the SSE group as required.

You’ll focus on selling new projects and retrofits, differentiating SSE services and products from competitors based on business benefits.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you’ll ideally be educated to a minimum of HNC in an engineering related discipline and have previous HVAC Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) experience. With a determination to grow our business, you’ll enjoy proactively contacting new clients and be comfortable presenting them with solutions to their BEMS requirements. Due to the nature of the projects world you will be working in, you’ll enjoy working in a solutions, target and deadline driven environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be some of your key assets along with the ability to build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with your clients.

Excellent communication skills are essential to maintain a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders including customers and external service providers. It is expected you'll display a professional manner and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support and direction. You'll be working in an ever-changing environment and as such will be adaptable and flexible.

Due to travelling to different sites across the region, it’s essential you possess a valid driving license.
