Base Location Glendoe Power Station, Fort Augustus

Salary: Starting at £22,011, increasing as you gain your accreditations + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves variety, beautiful scenery and is comfortable working outdoors and getting their hands dirty! Our Glendoe Power Station is part of a catchment area known as Great Glen. You'll take responsibility for a range of maintenance and inspection works at our power station, dams and buildings, helping us maintain the safety, efficiency and environmental impact of our hydro operations.

In return we can offer fantastic training and development opportunities to help you progress and develop within SSE Renewables.

Some of your main responsibilities will include: -

- Working on your own and collaboratively with others to identify and complete minor repairs, servicing and fixing defects.

- Making decisions and working on your own initiative; knowing when to flag for support.

- Supporting on a range of hydro environmental tasks - such as hill ditching, increasing storage capacity in small dams and clearing intake structures.

- Carrying out risk assessments, environmental and safety inspections.

Overtime will be required as part of this role from time to time, so we'll need you to be flexible and a strong team player.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, you'll need a passion for working outdoors regardless of the weather. Due to the remote locations of some of our hydro sites, a full driving licence is also essential.

In addition to this, we'd also love you to have: -

- Hands-on experience in a similar role involving maintenance, inspection, and repairs.

- A strong safety focus - if it's not safe, we don't do it.

- The ability to undertake manual labour e.g. bending, lifting, digging, carrying, etc.

- Willingness to learn new skills and develop in the role.
