About the Role
Base Location: Pitlochry
Salary: £22,178 pro rata + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: 3 month Fixed Term Contract | Part Time – 20 Hours Per Week | Flexible First options available
SSE’s predecessor, the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board was formed through the Hydro Electric Development Act in 1943. Scores of hydro dams and power stations were built across the uniquely positioned but challenging terrain to deliver power and dramatically improve lives across the highlands.
Over the last 8 decades this rich and unique heritage has continued to grow and we are now looking to expand our Heritage team for a 3-month period to support our latest archive project. The role will be based on the first floor of our Corporate Archives in Pitlochry Power Station which has limited access. The position will run from June to September, ideally suiting someone looking for seasonal work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tagging documents and uploading onto Heritage database
- Sorting and scanning high volumes of heritage documentation
- Highlighting anomalies and providing solutions where appropriate
- Providing weekly updates on productivity
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Good analytical skills and excellent attention to detail with IT skills to match are of high importance.
- The ability to manage time, self-drive and follow safety protocols are critical.
- Previous archiving experience would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Sound administrative experience is however necessary
- Good physical strength to lift and move boxes of records
- A genuine willingness to be part of an exciting project
