About the Role

Base Location: Perth or Glasgow

Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSE Renewables is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy across the UK and Ireland, with a portfolio of around 4GW of onshore wind, offshore wind and hydro. Our strategy is to drive the transition to a net zero future – through the world class development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the SSE Renewables Financial Control team. Through this role you will be supporting the operations of some of the most significant sources of renewable energy in the UK and Ireland.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Month end reporting including preparation of accruals and providing valuable narrative into operational variances.

- Ownership of balance sheets through performing reconciliations and ensuring necessary controls are maintained.

- Year end and half year process including preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with auditors.

- Supporting in the rollout of the finance transformation project including an enhanced financial control framework and other key change programmes taking place.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Qualified with a professional accounting body (e.g. ICAS, ACCA or CIMA).

- Good working knowledge of current IFRS and FRS 101.

- Strong analytical skills with ability to research, understand and resolve a wide range of finance issues.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously.

- Confident and articulate with a willingness to challenge in a constructive and supportive manner.

In addition to the above you will be a good communicator, professional and diligent, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, whilst never compromising on the quality of your work. You will be flexible, adept at managing expectations and be able to adapt to changing business needs.
