The role

You will turn energy data into clear insight that helps customers reduce consumption, improve performance and make better operational decisions. Working as part of SSE Energy Solutions Remote Service Centre, you will analyse complex energy data, produce high-quality reporting, support measurement and verification activity, and help improve the tools and processes we use to deliver value for customers. This is a varied role with real visibility, combining technical analysis, customer engagement and continuous improvement across our data and software environment.

You will

  • Gather, validate and analyse large volumes of energy and operational data to produce accurate, insightful reporting for internal teams and external customers.
  • Create regular reports, charts, presentations and benchmarks that highlight trends, performance issues and practical opportunities to reduce energy use and improve outcomes for customers.
  • Apply analytical techniques across areas such as forecasting, tariff analysis, demand flexibility, measurement and verification, and energy performance tracking.
  • Work closely with customers, colleagues, service providers and delivery teams to explain findings clearly, support meetings and demonstrations, and make sure reporting meets customer requirements.
  • Support the ongoing development of in-house software, reporting tools and data processes by identifying improvements, helping shape requirements and promoting effective use of energy data.

You have

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience working with complex data sets and using data to produce clear, accurate and actionable insight.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with analytical, database and reporting tools to extract, analyse and present complex data, while improving reporting methods and data quality.
  • Experience of research, analysis or reporting, focused on building energy performance, ideally using building controls, metering or operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to different audiences and build positive working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach, with the ability to manage priorities, work independently and as part of a team, and take ownership for delivering high-quality work.
